Find the Sign Contest
This is fun and works well with large or small groups. Give each participant 3 balloons- one under each arm and one between thier legs. Once the music starts, they cannot adjust thier balloons.
We chose an easy dance that everyone knew- The Tush Push.
Participants MUST dance the steps! If you drop a balloon, you are out....Last one remaining is the winner.
(Speed up the music if you need a round 2)

Great fun for a class party! Play a song and ask the class to find steps that work with the music. Ask for 8 volunteers. The first volunteer gives us the first 4 counts of the dance. The class learns as the steps are demonstrated. Each volunteer adds an additional 4 count section. When complete you have a "class choreographed dance".
You need to pre-chose a song with a 32 count rhythm.
We chose the song "Neon Moon" for our first "All Line Dance Party" at our now closed club Neon Moon. The dance was requested often for about a year!
We play "Line Dance Bingo" at almost every social we have. I hand out a bingo card and pencil to each dancer as they arrive. The dances included on the card are playlist dances from the DJ. (Playlist includes new dances we have learned, old favorites, and classic dances). The DJ plays these songs throughout the night along with songs not listed on the card. Dancers mark off the dance when they hear it played. First to "Bingo" wins a prize.
Here's a link to an easy Bingo card maker. It will shuffle the dance names before printing so no cards are alike.
Have the dancers get in groups of 4- each group will be a team. I pre-chose a 32 count rhythm song- the more unusual songs are really fun. Play the song once while the groups gather and play with steps. We then return to open dancing while these groups find a corner to work together choreographing a simple dance. (each member of the team will add an 8 count pattern).
Ten minutes later, we put the groups together on the floor, play the music, and they dance their own choreographed dance.
Winning team chosen by audience applause.
This takes a little prep work. I make some small signs with dance name logos or pictures to represent the dance names. I hang them all over the bar - on the wall, hanging from the ceiling, bathrooms, back of chairs, and even the garbage cans!  Thoughout the night, the DJ will randomly ask for a sign to match a dance being played. The dancers will scramble trying to remember where they saw it. The first to bring the sign to the DJ wins a small prize!
Be creative!!  The example signs above are: (clockwise from top) "Rockin' The Country", "Hips",
"Greased Lightning", and "Kiss and Make Up"
Joker Cards
I print these out and set a few on random tables. You can write your request on it and it gets fast-tracked to the top of the DJ request list. (Played within 3 songs)
***The last time we played this we had so much fun.I found a kid's song about monkeys....it worked great for some interesting choreography!  Winning team each recieved a stuffed monkey with long arms and velcro hands - they worn them around thier necks the rest of the night!
Thanks to Big Dave for this idea!!
You can find more games at his site.
Spot Questions
DJ asks random "on-the-spot"  questions throughout the night either dance related or Holiday Celebration related.Small prizes for the winners.
